About
The Drawer

The Drawer is a simple way to find out what’s in your financial drawer: the pensions, policies and statements you’ve collected over the years. Here’s how it works and who’s behind it.

What exactly is The Drawer?

The Drawer brings all your pensions, protection and investment policies together in one place, and helps you make sure they’re still working for you. You tell us what you think you have, and we contact your providers to gather the details. We’ll then talk you through what we’ve found: what you have, what it’s worth, how your pensions and investments have been performing, and whether other funds available to you might better suit your goals and attitude to risk.

Afterwards, you’ll receive your Drawer Report, a clear, plain-English summary to keep. And if there’s a more cost-effective or more suitable option out there, we can advise you on that too. We’ll mind it from here.

Yes. The Drawer is a service provided by Ferris Financial Planning Ltd, a financial planning firm based in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, and regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland. The same qualified team looks after you.

Our first job is to help you understand what you already have, not to sell you something new. If your review shows a plan could work better for you, we can advise you and arrange it, but only if you want us to and only where it’s suitable for you.

Your Drawer review is free. When you appoint us as your adviser on existing plans, the provider may pay us any ongoing commission on those plans, and if you complete new business with us, we will also receive commission and payments from lenders and providers. All of this is set out in our Remuneration Summary.

No. Your Drawer Report is yours to keep, whatever you decide. Many people simply want to know what they have, and that’s absolutely fine. There’s no pressure and no obligation.

Your information is held by Ferris Financial Planning Ltd in line with data protection law (GDPR). We only use it to provide your review and any service you ask us for, and we never sell it. You can read the full details in our Data Privacy Notice.

Getting Started

Getting started takes just a few minutes. You don’t need paperwork, policy numbers or a tidy drawer. Here’s what to expect.

I’m not sure what policies I have. Is that a problem?

Not at all. That’s exactly why The Drawer exists. Just tell us what you can remember: an old employer, a provider’s name, a policy you think you took out years ago. We’ll take it from there.

Within 4 working days, we’ll post you a welcome pack with a one-page consent form and a prepaid return envelope. You can also download the form straight away if you’d rather print it yourself. Once we receive your signed form, we get to work.

The Drawer review is free for plans where we’re your appointed adviser. The consent form makes this happen by transferring the agency on your plans to The Drawer (Ferris Financial Planning Ltd). Your providers will then share your information with us, and we can review your plans, advise you on them and look after them from here on.

If a provider can’t transfer a plan, the form acts as a letter of authority instead. We can still gather the details and include them in your Drawer Report.

Your plans, cover and charges stay exactly the same, and you’re free to appoint a different adviser at any time.

Often, yes. If you’ve changed jobs over the years, you may have pensions you’ve forgotten about. Tell us the names of your previous employers and roughly when you worked there, and we’ll do our best to trace them.

It depends on how quickly your providers respond. Most reply within a few weeks, but some take longer. We’ll chase them for you and keep you updated, and once everything is in, we’ll arrange your review call.

No, your Drawer review is free. We never charge for meetings. When you appoint us as adviser on your existing plans, the provider may pay us ongoing commission, and if you go ahead with new business, we receive commission and payments from providers, as set out in our Remuneration Summary. If a fee ever applies to a particular service, we’ll agree it with you in writing before any work begins.
